Military/Senior Discounts

Joshua HardwickJoshua Hardwick

Many companies offer discounts to both military personnel and senior citizens.

If your brand does this, you can use this to build a few extra backlinks, as there are a number of pages out there that list (and link out to) “senior/military only” discounts.

Here’s an example:

Typically, you don’t have to offer a huge discount (5-10% is usually fine), which means you can get backlinks pretty cheaply.

Here’s how to do it:

Finding pages listing military and senior links in your industry is as simple as doing a few Google searches, such as:

And…

Sift through the results and make a note of any pages that meet the criteria.

Also, check the page(s) for contact details and add these to your notes:

Next, create a page on your website letting people know about the discount.

If you use WordPress (or a similar CMS), this can be created in minutes – just click the “Add page” button on the backend.

It doesn’t have to be anything particularly complicated, just outline the discount you’re offering and any other requirements.

Finally, reach out to the sites you found and asking if they’d be happy to add your link.

Here’s an outreach template to use:

“Hey [NAME],

I’m [YOUR NAME], [POSITION] at [WEBSITE].

Just came across your {MILITARY | SENIOR} discounts page and was hoping you might consider adding us?

We’re proud to offer [INSERT DISCOUNT AMOUNT] on all our products.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

[YOUR NAME]”
