There are thousands of websites for sale of Flippa at any one time, and many of them have been established a number of years, such as this one:
When webmasters come to sell these sites, they have to create a listing (much like you would on eBay).
This listing is often extremely extensive, and lists a tonne of details about the website, including: monthly visitors, revenue, and so forth.
And, because SEO is so important for any well-established website, owners often also list the places that they acquired backlinks in the description, like this one:

Finding Flippa sites in your industry is as simple as going to Flippa.com and typing in a broad keyword (e.g. “tech”) into the search box:
It pays to use the advanced search, however, as most websites giving such information will be well-established.
Therefore, you should limit your search to websites with 1,000+ visitors per month:
Next, go through each result and look for backlink information in the listing(s).
Make a note of any backlink opportunities you find, and how they were obtained.
In most cases, they’ll have been built using PR techniques – this means you can quite quickly build up a list of journalists in your space who are receptive to pitches.
